The Lloyd's TSB programme is delivered in partnership with the School for Social Entrepreneurs. Over £1m is available.

The social value that banking brings to the UK is already enormous.

The School for Social Entrepreneurs is mobilising an army of entrepreneurs across the UK, thanks to £1m a year from Lloyds Banking Group. Tim West spoke to Lloyds' Community & Sustainable Business Director Paul Turner on video about the programme – and about Lloyds' broader social mission.

No corporate responsibility (CR) department of a multinational is worth its salt without a programme to support social entrepreneurs. Lloyds Banking Group recently launched its own initiative, establishing a new programme to work with and fund 150 social entrepreneurs (application deadline this Friday).

For social entrepreneurs hit by the double whammy of recession and a shrinking state, such programmes are ever welcome. But will the principles of social entrepreneurship ever move out of the CR department and become part of the DNA of a business? Tim West spoke to Paul Turner to find out.
