We are keen to support charities and social enterprises to understand the merits of social media. It has great potential to  deliver real benefits around stakeholder interaction and engagement, giving increased support for their social aims and objectives, and ultimately greater social impact.

In collaboration with Social Misfits Media, Unity Trust Bank is calling on the UK’s small to medium-sized charities and social enterprises to complete a short survey to find out their social media habits.

The sector’s interest in and usage of social media has grown exponentially in the last several years. But for every large charity that can afford to create and execute a social media strategy there are dozens of small to medium-sized organisations that, for a variety of reasons, have yet to embrace social media.

The results of the survey will be used to create a beginner's guide to social media for UK charities and social enterprises.

The guide, which will be free and available online – as well as for the Kindle and iPad – will include case studies of successful social media campaigns, interviews with social media experts (including the Head of Innovation at Twitter) and lists of social media resources.

Adrian Oldman, head of marketing and communications at Unity Trust Bank, said: 'Unity Trust Bank has a long standing history working with social economy organisations. We are keen to support charities and social enterprises to understand the merits of social media. It has great potential to  deliver real benefits around stakeholder interaction and engagement, giving increased support for their social aims and objectives, and ultimately greater social impact.'

The survey, which will take no more than 60 seconds to do, can be found here:

Deadline for responses is Wednesday 12th September. Further information about when the guide will be available will follow.
